Which are the Functions of a Healthy Family?

Healthy family has the following functions:

  1. Emotional – Psychological - satisfaction of the needs of psychological and emotional support, protection, respect, recognition and sympathy,

  2. Spiritual – self-growth, spiritual enrichment,

  3. Sexual – satisfaction of sexual needs,

  4. Reproductive – creation of babies,

  5. Educational – Social - education of children, satisfaction of the needs of motherhood and fatherhood, as well as preparation of children for social life,

  6. Economical – Domestic – taking care about the house chores, as well as managing the budget and meeting the material needs of family members (such as food, clothing, shelter, etc.),

  7. Recreational – physical and intellectual recovery by organizing vacations and activities. Basically taking care about the health of family members.

Families which perform the mentioned functions, are called functional and, thus, they are healthy.
