The main differences between love and infatuation are the following:
  1. Love is long-lasting, while infatuation is temporary,

  2. Love assumes noticing both: "good" and "bad" qualities of the person, while infatuation assumes seeing the person as perfect.

  3. Love assumes commitment, while infatuation doesn't.

  4. Love includes intimacy, while infatuation doesn't.

  5. Love strengthens by time, while infatuation weakens.

  6. Love assumes wanting the best for beloved, while infatuation is more self-centered.
